Jasper is a well-known red stone found on many beaches in New Zealand, especially in the South Island, and symbolises strength and stamina, both emotionally and physically.
Neil was born 1957 in Aotearoa - New Zealand. He attended Wellington School of Design and his early works were exhibited in the National Art Gallery, Wellington. Neil is a self-taught jeweller and sculptor and has a passion for using and bringing together earthly and local materials such as kauri copal/gum, (New Zealand amber), pounamu and other stones. Neil's designs are bold, strong, singular and contemporary. His work has been shown both locally and internationally including the 2018 Venice Biennale where his work was showcased by New Zealand’s Representative, Lisa Reihana.
