This beautiful Kōwhai  pendant has been cleverly cast in sterling silver from an original Tania Mallow carving, finished with a sterling silver chain and clasp. 

Kōwhai is best known for their brilliant yellow flowers that appear in profusion in Spring and stand out among the forest greenery. 
Kōwhai are an important seasonal nectar food source for native birds such as Tui, bellbird and New Zealand wood pigeon/kererū/kūkū/kūkupa.
Kōwhai imagery is popular in art works and has been used on postage stamps and coins. 

Tania Mallow has had a deep-seated passion for crafting since the age of 8, and her journey began in her father's garage, where she discovered her love for creating jewellery using bits of wire and beads.
